Is FoSTaC training mandatory for all food businesses?

FoSTaC is mandatory for State and Central license holders. It is not mandatory for Basic Registration holders, but it is highly recommended for best food safety practices.

What are the different FoSTaC courses available?

FoSTaC offers Basic and Advanced courses for: (1) Catering establishments, (2) Manufacturing units, (3) Retail and distribution, (4) Storage and transport. Special courses are also available for dairy, meat, and bakery.

How long is a FoSTaC certificate valid?

FoSTaC certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of issuance. After 3 years, the Food Safety Supervisor needs to renew/refresh their certification.

Can FoSTaC training be done online?

Yes, FoSTaC Basic courses can be done online through FSSAI-approved e-learning platforms. Advanced courses may require in-person sessions. We coordinate both modes.

How many staff need FoSTaC training?

At least one trained Food Safety Supervisor is required per 25 food handlers. For example, if you have 50 food handlers, you need at least 2 certified Food Safety Supervisors.
